  • Nothing OS just got smoother. Update to version 1.1.7 today.

The next OS update is here. Featuring a more fluid user experience and even better integration with third parties.

If you own AirPods, you can now see the battery status displayed on your Phone (1).

We’ve also made improvements to Phone (1)’s battery status display so that it’s more accurate. With better consistency so there’s no surprises on how long’s left until you next run out.

Other improvements include:

  • We adjusted the thermal threshold to better balance performance and temperature

  • Audio quality has been optimised for recording videos in live music environments

  • We’ve updated to the latest Android security patch

  • Less lagging and stutters all round

As always, we’ve fixed general bugs. Including unresponsive WhatsApp notifications on the home screen.

Version 1.1.7 is gradually rolling out. To check for the update on Phone (1), just head to Settings > System Update.

Received this today and it 100% feels more responsive and smoother - great work Nothing team keep ’em coming! 🙂

I got the update yesterday. The OS definitely feels smoother than before. Good job, Nothing team! 😊👍🏻

As mentioned in the update regarding AirPods battery status, I have enabled the Experimental Feature but still not able to see the battery status.

Has anyone been able to get that properly?

Sayan_Dutta Okay, someone in the Twitter had a good explanation of what might be happening here, though I am not sure. He asserts that after every update the adaptive battery learning usage cache is getting wiped off and it’s starting from scratch again, so overtime it’ll learn again and will continue giving battery life as before in due time.

I felt the same, battery usually took a hit (minor or major) after every update then eventually fixed itself.
